Joy in the morning

Finding Hope After the Storm

Scripture Focus:
“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” – Psalm 30:5 (NKJV)

Devotional Thought:

Hey friend,

Have you ever felt like you were stuck in a storm with no end in sight? I’ve been there—wondering if the dark clouds would ever part and if I’d ever feel joy again.

I remember a time when I faced so much loss and heartbreak that I thought I’d never smile again. As Christians, we are not exempt from depression and loneliness. In 2023, one year after losing my mom, life seemed to get worse day by day.

No job, no money, driving around to pantries to find food to feed me and my son was tough. But even in the middle of my pain, God was there, reminding me of His promise in Psalm 30:5. Joy does come, even if it feels far away.

God is faithful to restore what’s been broken, even if it doesn’t happen the way we expect.

That tough season you’re in? It’s not the end of your story. If God made a way for me, I guarantee He will do it for you. He’s working behind the scenes, and one day, you’ll look back and see how He turned those ashes into beauty.

You don’t have to wait for joy until everything is perfect. Start looking for the small signs of His goodness today—a kind word, a sunrise, or the peace that comes with knowing you’re loved by the Creator of the universe.

Take Action:

  1. Reflect on a time when God brought you through a storm.
  2. Thank Him for His faithfulness and ask for His help to trust Him in your current season.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the promise of joy even in the darkest times. Help me to trust You and look for Your goodness every day. I believe that You are working all things for my good, even when I can’t see it yet. Thank You for being my refuge and my strength. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
