Letting go of worry

Letting Go of Worry

Scripture Focus:
“Casting all your cares upon him, for he cares for you.” – 1 Peter 5:7 (KJV)

Devotional Thought:

Hey friend,

I want to share something with you because I’ve been there—I’ve stayed up late, staring at the ceiling, replaying every “what if” in my mind. What if I fail? What if this situation doesn’t work out? What if I’m not enough?

One day, I found myself so burdened by worry that I couldn’t focus on anything else. I felt stuck in a cycle of fear, like I was carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders. Then I came across this verse: “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” It was like God was whispering, “You’re not meant to carry this alone.”

It’s not always easy, is it? Sometimes we pick our worries back up after we’ve prayed about them. But I’ve learned that every time I let go, even if it’s just for a moment, I feel His peace start to fill the empty spaces.

I don’t know what you’re carrying today, but I want you to know this: God sees you. He cares about every detail of your life, even the ones that feel too small or too messy to mention. He’s inviting you to trade your worry for His peace.

Take Action:
  • Write down what’s been weighing on your heart.
  • Pray over that list, and as you do, picture yourself placing each worry in God’s hands.
  • Leave it with Him—and when you’re tempted to pick it back up, remind yourself that He’s in control.

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for caring about me so deeply. You know the worries I’ve been holding onto, and today I want to release them into Your hands. Help me trust You with every detail of my life. Thank You for Your peace that surpasses all understanding. I choose to rest in Your promises. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
