The Woman Who Survived What Should’ve Broken Her
When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee…”
— Isaiah 43:2 (KJV)
This devotion is dedicated to the women who have been broken, battered, and bruised like me, but by the grace of God, you’re still here. Thank you for holding on even when you wanted to let go. You’re needed, you’re loved, you’re important, and every part of who you are matters.
Lakeya faith
There are moments when you pause long enough to look back at your story and realize how many storms had the power to destroy you. The abandonment, the trauma, the disappointments, the seasons where you had nothing left in you — any of those could have taken you out. Yet here you are: breathing, praying, growing, fighting. And that alone makes you the woman who survived what should’ve broken her.
You didn’t come out because you were fearless.
You came out because God refused to let you sink.
This is dedicated to the women who have been broken, battered, and bruised like me, but by the grace of God, you’re still here. Thank you for holding on even when you wanted to let go. You’re needed, you’re loved, you’re important, and every part of who you are matters.
Life Hit You Hard… But God Covered You
Some battles scar deeper than anyone will ever know.
You navigated pain you didn’t deserve and endured hardships that stretched you thin. Through everything, you still showed up — even when you felt empty on the inside.
People around you noticed the smile, but God was the One who witnessed the breakdowns in private.
They admired your progress, yet only He understood the price you paid to keep moving.
Some praised your strength, but the Lord saw the fragile places where you were barely holding on.
Survival wasn’t your doing.
It was His grace keeping you together.
Survival Didn’t Come Without Scars
The journey left marks — emotional, spiritual, and sometimes physical.
You have days when confidence rises, and others when old memories shake you.
You have moments when healing feels real, and others when the wound feels fresh again.
But that doesn’t make you weak.
It makes you human.
Survivors don’t glide through life untouched.
They continue despite the ache.
They rise even when trembling.
They refuse to stay buried in the place that tried to break them.
Those scars?
They’re evidence that the enemy hit you hard — and still lost.
God Didn’t Just Bring You Out — He’s Bringing You Forward
What you endured is not your story. You ARE the woman who survived what should’ve broken her
You survived the fire, but God has no intention of leaving you in the ashes.
Everything you walked through is now becoming a platform for where you’re headed next.
He’s rebuilding your confidence piece by piece.
He’s restoring what fear tried to damage.
He’s strengthening the areas that felt permanently weak.
He’s guiding you into a season where your past can’t hold you hostage.
The fact that you survived means purpose is still in motion.
This is not the end — it’s the turning point.
Prayer
Father, thank You for carrying me through seasons that were heavier than I could’ve handled. Thank You for seeing the pain others missed and healing the wounds I tried to hide. Strengthen the parts of me that are still recovering, and lead me into the future You have designed. Thank you for healing my broken heart and binding up my wounds. I am able to stand and walk in faith because of you. I’m grateful to be the woman who survived with You beside me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
