Praise Before The Breakthrough

Lakeya Faith, Lakeya Faith devotions, Praise God in advance, praise before the breakthrough, devotions for Christian women

Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.” – Psalm 150:6 (KJV)

Today, I have a message that God has placed so deep within my heart that I felt led to make a devotion and a podcast episode about it. Whatever you are facing today, I want you to know that praise before the breakthrough is possible.

Have you ever tried to praise God through tears? It can be hard. When the enemy has you feeling discouraged and defeated, one of the last things he wants you to do is praise God. You’re tired, broken, and sometimes hopeless. But you must praise God anyhow!

You don’t just praise God when everything is going right. You must tap into faith, no matter how big or small, and praise Him because deep down, you believe He’s still working, even when you can’t see it.

That’s what it means to praise Him in advance.

Before the healing, the open doors, the answer to your prayers, and those broken relationships are restored.

Before your name is called, the offer comes, or the weight lifts.

Praising God in advance is not ignoring reality – it’s declaring, “God, I trust You anyway.”

Real Praise Doesn’t Wait

Sometimes we want to wait until we have the testimony before we lift our hands. But the truth is — praise is often what brings the breakthrough.

In Acts 16, Paul and Silas were in prison — beaten, chained, surrounded by darkness. But around midnight, they began to pray and sing hymns to God.

They weren’t free yet.

They didn’t know what the next hour held.

But the praised.

And suddenly — the prison shook, chains broke, and doors opened.

Hallelujah! That’s what advance praise can do.

For the Woman Who’s Still Waiting

Maybe you’re in a season where it seems like things will not change. You’re praying, sowing, and fasting. You’re standing on God’s Word, yet you feel stuck in a holding pattern.

Can I encourage you? Don’t let silence make you stop singing.
Even in the waiting, God is watching.
Even in the silence, Heaven hears.

Your praise is not wasted. It’s warfare, faith, and obedience.
And it’s working things in the Spirit that your eyes can’t yet see.

Speak this out Loud: “I will bless the Lord at all times.
His praise will continually be in my mouth— even while I wait.”

Prayer:

Lord, I don’t see the answer yet, and sometimes I feel like things will never change. But I know You are worthy and working things out for my good. Teach me to praise You not just for what You’ve done, but for who You are. Strengthen my faith while I wait. In this season, at this moment, I choose to lift my hands and my eyes to You. You are my help in times of trouble. Let my worship be my weapon. Even before the breakthrough, I will say thank you, Lord. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Reflect & Respond:
  • What are you still believing God for?
  • Take 3 minutes today to praise Him like it’s already done.
  • Write a “thank You” note to God in advance.
