Grace for the Woman Who Keeps Falling

Grace for the woman who keeps falling, Lakeya Faith, devotions, devotionals, devotions for Christian women, Christian encouragement,

“The righteous falls seven times and rises again, but the wicked stumble in times of calamity.”
Proverbs 24:16 (ESV)

Some days you feel like you’ve made progress — like maybe, just maybe, you’ve turned a corner. You prayed harder this time. You set boundaries. You promised God (and yourself) that you wouldn’t go back there again.

But then…
It happened.
Again.

You fell.

Maybe it wasn’t physical, but it was emotional.
Maybe you slipped back into that habit, that thought pattern, that relationship, or that identity that God already delivered you from.
And now here you are — sitting in the heaviness of shame, feeling unworthy to even whisper His name.

If that’s where you are today, I want to remind you of something that the enemy doesn’t want you to know:

God’s grace is for the woman who keeps falling — not just the one who “has it all together.

For the One Who’s Tired of Falling

It’s exhausting trying to do right and still ending up in the wrong. I’ve been there more times than I can count. In that place of regret and conviction. Sitting in tears, crying out to God, asking for forgiveness and strength. Forgivness to continue this journey with Him by my side and strength to resist temptation when it knocks again.

When we fall, sometimes we assume that God is angry with us or He’ll punish us for what we’ve done. Feeling like a failure, questioning your faith, and beating yourself up is what the enemy wants you to do.

But here’s the truth:

You are not disqualified because you fell.
You are not disgusting because you slipped.
You are not forgotten because you failed.

You are still His.

Even when the enemy screams, “You’ll never change!”

Grace whispers, “Im not done with you yet.”

God never called you to be perfect – He called you to keep coming. To get up. To walk again, even with a limp. To reach for Him even with tear-stained hands.

Let’s Go Deeper:

“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” – 2 Corinthians 12:19 (KJV)

When Paul cried out for God to take away what he called a “thorn in his flesh,” God didn’t remove it. Instead, He reminded Paul that grace is not about being strong enough — it’s about depending on the One who is.

If you’re battling the same struggle over and over again, you are not alone. Life is hard. Sometimes we face battles that seem like they may defeat us. But sister, let me encourage you today to hold on!
Don’t stop crying out. Don’t stop pressing your way through. Don’t stop rising in your faith.

Because every time you rise again — whether it’s the second, seventh, or seventieth time — you’re saying, “Lord, I still believe You haven’t given up on me.”

And He hasn’t.

Truth to Hold On Told:
  • Righteousness isn’t proven by perfection; it’s proven by pursuit.
  • Every time you fall and choose to rise, it’s an act of surrender and trust.
  • God’s grace isn’t shocked by your struggle. It was designed for it.

Hallelujah! Thank You, Jesus! I get joy when I remember what God says it about us! Now, it’s time for you to do the same.

Prayer:

Lord, I’ve fallen more times than I care to admit. I wanted to do better. I thought I was doing better. But here I am — needing Your grace again. Jesus, I get so tired of myself at times, but thank You for not getting tired of lifting me. Where would I be without Your love, grace, and mercy. Thank You for loving and holding me through every fall, every relapse, every moment of weakness. My flesh so is weak at times, so, Lord shower me in your strength. Teach me to see myself the way You do — loved, chosen, and still called. Help me rise again, stronger in You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Faith in Action:
  • What lie are you believing about yourself because you fell?
  • Take a moment and speak truth: “God’s not done with me.”
  • Write down one thing you can do today to step back into alignment with Christ — even if it’s small. Then do it.
